You're decent shape for the decent amount of muscle mass but the very first thing I saw when looking at you was where's this guy's back at no let development and I understand when we are older it's more difficult but I'd say if you were going to focus on anything start with some pull Downs pull-ups and rows
3-4 times applies to everybody. Younger guys may be able to train daily, but the benefits of strength training every day compared to every 2nd are very small and in many cases it's even worse. Even younger guys need time to regenerate and grow and that's what happens on the days you don't lift.
Your quads release the most muscle growth hormone though. If you do a top bottom split, you miss out. Every strength day should start with quads first. Back squat, leg press, etc
How can my workout be 30- 40 mins when i am trying to do upper and lower split. I cant see how people target the muscles needed in 40 mins. Unless there is no rest between sets.
Best Advice : Build your Base from 18 to 25. Take care of your lower Back and at some point by 35 just eat less. By 40 you just need 1 Session per Week to Look good. I be honest: Training just sucks by older age, specially Hack Squats. Its just exhausting. Thats the Truth.
When he says 2 day upper body/lower body split, does he mean Day 1) Upper -> Day 2) Lower -> Day 3) Rest -> then repeat? Of course that would be mean 5 workout days per week total, so I'm not sure.
